The South Dakotan governor was banned from entering the Pine Ridge Native American Reservation (located in South Dakota) once again. This time the leaders of the reservation claim she has been banned from entering the reservation area, over her recent statements she made in regards to immigration.

The issue stems from the fact that Noem claimed murders and rapes being done by a gang affiliated with illegals, named "Ghost Dancers". "Ghost Dancing " is also a native American ritual. Apparently the leaders of the reservation claim she had hurt the community by mentioning singling out only one of the gangs in the reservation causing chaos, that too being one that is named after a religious act.

One of them was over checkpoints that the tribal government set up during the covid crisis. I remember the tribes shut down several areas in my state. It's a sound plan based on history.

I’ve told this story before but it stuck with me for life. Many years ago (90s) was having a beer sans softball game. There was a cute girl at the table never met before. Later while talking with the group I used the term “oriental” to describe someone. She looked me dead in the eye and said, “I’m a person not a rug”. I never used that term in my life ever again to describe Asian people. Needless to say I changed my idea of possibly asking her out.

It’s not up to you to decide what other groups find degrading. Your response just confirms one of the side effects of 1A. It allows people like you to be racist pricks.

While I do not believe violence is an appropriate solution here, you certainly are right about the second part.

The only real solution here is to give the tribe full sovereignty. As it stands they only have sovereignty over the tribe, and not over non-tribal members. This obviously creates massive problems.

They should be able to lock up and imprison white people according to their justice as quickly as their own. It is their nation after all.
