Kraken X60 CM HAF 932 Advanced - I did it!

Changed my AIO Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme for a Kraken X60 in rig 1 below with a CM HAF 932 Advanced case. It took some work to mark and drill the holes on the top to mount the radiator. Wasn't the easiest thing to do but it worked.

I took everything out of my case to assure to metal shavings from drilling and had to hold the radiator up to the top to mark the areas that needed drilled.

The cooler is very big. However it does a great job of cooling. My max temps dropped from 80 C when I run IBT to 71C. In Prime 95 on custom fan mode ( almost silent) it never exceeds 66C. I'm very pleased.

It really is very quiet on silent or custom mode and cools nearly as well as extreme mode.

Thinking of water cooling too with my HAF 932 advanced (see sig), using those 280mm radiators/140mmm fans. So it's either the Kraken X60 or Cosair Hydro H110.
How about some pictures inside and top of the case? Would like to see the clearances. 😉

Latest build is only used/turned on when I do video encoding/graphics, not a gamer. Anything else I use my trusty 6 year old Asus P5K Premium, Q6600,8GB, 8600GT 1024mb.

I'll dig out a camera and take some photos this weekend. You have PLENTY of room even to run a push pull system. It's just that the mounting holes for the radiator don't line up on top so you have to drill.

Decided to go with the Kraken X60 for easy install and go ($115 shipped Newegg). Might do an upgrade later on with the XSPC Raystorm.
I'll find out in a few days how it goes.

Hopefully the big radiator on the X60 will keep your OC'd 3930k cool!🙂

Installed already. Had to figure out how to mount the fans on top of the radiator and which holes on the HAF 932 to use.

Installed on current system. Note where I used screws to mount it.

Ran the same encoding, at custom setting via Kraken Control.
Asus Monitor says 45C. Kraken control shows 55 ave for each core. :\

Going from 71C to 55 C is a BIG jump! Good job on the mount. Nice. Did you try mounting the radiator above the fans in a push mode?

No. Followed what the diagram in the manual showed, a pull configuration.

I'm thinking of changing to higher static pressure fans and perhaps test if a push/pull would be worth the 5°C improvement over pull alone.

flip the fans to push only if ur gonna leave them at 75-100%..

so it pulls air from the top, and then blows it down to your case...

If u have decient wash from your fans after going though your radiator, your board will also be kept nice and cool via active cooling instead of complete passive cooling.
^ that is probably the biggest advantage...

If your gonna leave your fans on silent, its better to have it pull...
(your current config)
As low wash, could get trapped the other way.
