I have 2x of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814500362 in sli

Previous thread i'm extremely frustrated with my zotac 970 oc results. I was told that it has to do with my vram temps or my temps over all is too high (even though hwmon indicates my temp below 80C at all times). Therefore I am going to try to do a kraken g10 + h50 (with noctuas) to see if I can push it to 1400+ mhz or 1500mhz ideally.

Anyone have any comments on my direction?

vram and vrm cooling with the kraken g10 is a weak point in its design if im not mistaken. Doesnt seem like its going to address your concern. maybe you just didnt win the lottery this time.

Make sure you have the latest revision of the H50, the older ones (they're tall) won't fit. The newer ones look like the H70's pump. Also, the G10 isn't going to cool your VRM's so don't plan on overclocking much anyway...

It would be a bad idea. The 92mm cooling fan on the G10 blows air over the right side of the card. Your card's VRM is located on the left side, meaning your VRM and VRAM temps would be higher, due to no air flow.

What he said. Not sure if I'm too late or you already confirmed it, but the G10 Kraken only works with the second version of the H50. I know this because I too bought a G10 Kraken based on Microcenter's description for the item:

http://www.microcenter.com/product/429991/Kraken_G10_Liquid_Cooled_GPU_Mounting_Kit_-_Black
Compatible Devices
NZXT : Kraken X60, Kraken X40; Corsair : H105, H110, H90, H75, H55 , H50; Antec : KUHLER H2O 920V4, KUHLER H2O 620V4, KUHLER H2O 920, KUHLER H2O 620; Thermaltake : Water 3.0 Extreme, Water 3.0 Pro, Water 3.0 Performer, Water 2.0 Extreme, Water 2.0 Pro, Water 2.0 Performer; Zalman : LQ-320, LQ-315, LQ-310

Only to find out mid installation it isn't compatible with my Gen 1 Corsair H50. I can't even find specific info on the Gen2 Corsair H50, but checking NZXT's actual website they list specifically:

http://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/138-kraken-g10-gpu-bracket.html
Compatibility NZXT : Kraken X61, Kraken X41, Kraken X31, Kraken X60, Kraken X40
Corsair : H105, H110, H90, H75, H55 , H50 (CW-9060006-WW only)

Keep this in mind if you haven't already purchased everything.

^ I haven't. I don't know if I should do this route or simply go custom water cool. But ofcuz custom water cool will be a lot more expensive (though by now, I dont think that cost matters to me).

The underline is. I want to OC my zotac 970 to 1500mhz + without throttling. I would like to know going to G10 + h50 route will give me that performance. (y/n).
