with their cheese slices.

I just noticed that instead of getting 24 slices in a pack, it is now 22 slices. An the thicker cheese slices now contain 14 slices instead of 16 slices like previously.

Not sure I like this. I am also unsure if this has anything to do with Kraft Canada selling it's cheese business to Parmalat.

Has the package weight changed?

It has, 24 ct was 1lb, now it's 22 ct at 14.7 oz. Where have you guys been for oh, say the last million years or so? This has been going on since day 1. When the first caveman traded a pile of rocks for a sharp stick he figured out he could do better by trading a slightly smaller pile of rocks for the same sharp stick.

Don't see the package as half-empty, choose instead to see it half full. You're being sold slightly less really really really really awful "cheese product". Use that as incentive to buy some real cheese instead.

I hate this trend, it's so crooked to purposely mislead people. It's also worse for the environment because now you end up with more packaging for the same quantity of product.

The one I hate too is stuff that is in a plastic container like nuts etc and they indent the bottom inwards so it looks like there's a lot but it's only about half the quality as what it looks like because of the way the bottom is indented.

I just buy Aldi store brand. Taste just as good and much cheaper. Many store brands are as good and some cases better than name brands.

It's been a couple years since I've bought cheese slices, and those were specialty products. I don't think I've ever bought American singles. Anyway, I'll second aldi. Their commodity cheese is as good as any, and that's what I use when I need slices. Just get a block, and cut slices off. Extra sharp cheddar and Swiss are my favorites. They also get good deluxe cheeses in, but it not an all the time thing. They show up, and disappear.

That stuff pisses me off. Just be honest and raise the fucking price. You're making my life more difficult planning quantities, and I'm not a fucking idiot.
In many cases they are lowering the quantity and raising prices.

Just to let people know:

1. This is in Canada
2. I can't eat real cheese. I love real cheese but I am lactose intolerant.
3. the Kraft slices are way better than other brands here.
4. I know it's not something worth getting all riled up over. ;)

Since I'm a bit half-heartedly trying to go vegan from vegetarian, I try to buy as many vegan substitutes as I can.

I know I'm probably naive but I have this image of places that produce vegan foods. I sort of assume that they're going to more ethical than the mega food corps.

Kingsford Charcoal used to be 20 lb bags, then they became 18.6 lb bags.. now they're even lower. Thankfully I bought like 20 of the 18.6 lb ones. Still have 7 to burn before forced to buy again.

Welcome to the fun and games in the market place! One needs to be aware of their surroundings.
