I haven't seen this problem addressed in any of the forums I've been to so I'm a little worried. I have an ABIT KR7A-raid running an xp1600+ with two Desktar 40GB HD's running on the same IDE channel (not RAID) and I'm running Windows XP. For some reason my system takes forever to startup (from POST to desktop takes over 1 1/2 minutes) and I can hear the HD's being accessed frequently. Same thing happens to me when I shut down. It takes like 30 seconds to shut down. I know it's not my HD's cause I was running the same ones on a Tbird 1.2 and A7M266 and they usually boot up in less than 15 seconds and shuts down in like 5. I mean, there's no slowdown when I'm actually running windows but to get there is obscenely long. Anybody have the same problems/fix for this? Like I said, it's only boot up and shutdown times that seem to be affected. Currently I have my 1600+ at 1533mhz by tweaking fsb but that's not the problem cause I get it at default settings too.
