<< I bought KR7ARAID board when it first came out. Except for some BIOS irritations, it's been a fine and stable board.

I too bought this board shortly after it's debut. At the time there were four board options that I seriously considered, the KR7A-Raid, the A7V266E, the 8kha+ and the Soyo Dragon. I was not very farmiliar with soyo, and quite frankly the color shceme irritated me, the 8kha+ seemed to have DOA problems at the time. This left me to choose between the Abit and the Asus. I ultimately opted for the ABIT because I had been happy with previous boards of theirs that I have owned. I am still convinced that the ASUS would have been a fine choice, but I have been completely satisfied with the KR7A, I have never had an unexplained crash (I had a few SBlive / Win XP driver problems at first, but those were easily fixed - was not Abit's fault)
In short, I have been extremely satisfied with the KR7A, It has been stable and fast to boot.
Oh - Just make sure that when you install you push the ram in fully (it sometimes requires a lot of force) and that the thermistor clears the bottom of your CPU.
Hope I was able to help
