kr7a overclocking... raid issues

hey, i'm about to buy a new system for myself (see profile) and i was discussing my plan with a good friend of mine. now he knows his stuff, and told me that the kr7a raid he owns will not overclock very much at all (only up 7 mhz to 140 in fact) due to the fact that the highpoint controller doesn't do very well when the mobo is overclocked. so now i'm kinda stuck.. i wanted the raid version, not to raid out my computer, but so i could go nuts with ide devices and the like... get em all on separate channels. but i also want to see how far i can push my system. is he right? will buying the raid version hinder the overclocking ability of the abit board? does anyone else have experience with this board? i kinda want a second opinion here, or suggestions on what else to do. thx.
