KR7A + Audigy = no boot?

My KR7A-R will not boot with the Audigy in a slot. I have tried:
Memory Hole.
Disabling Raid.
Reseating many many times.
Different PCI slot.
BIOS 6G
I can't even get to POST with it in, so this is obviously OS unrelated. If I take the Audigy out, it boots fine, and runs like a dream.

Any ideas? Anyone else seeing/heard of this issue?

I have the following config on a KR7A (non-raid) and it boots fine..

Radeon 8500 agp
Audigy PCI 2
3com NIC PCI 6

safe defaults, no overclocking, I had a problem with my cdrom putting errors on the HD while installing Windows but when I set bios to safe defaults the problem went away.

Good luck...

Ok,

1. try last two PCI slots;
2. try safe defaults in BIOS.

Keep them coming guys, i'll try them all tonight.

No luck peeps. I tried the last two PCI slots, no luck, I also tried the Safe Defaults BIOS setting. I think I'm giving up and RMA'ng my Audigy.

Any other suggestions?

i have my audigy in slot 3 and it runs perfect. i even have it overclocked to a 180 fsb. i would try the audigy in another machine first to test and see if thats the problem. also just make sure that the audigy is completly seated, especially in new motherboards it can take a considerable amount of force to get those suckers all the way in.

I set the BIOS settings to SAFE DEFAULTS in all the screens, and it's working now. I didn't realize you had to go into every screen to do that, i thought once you selected LOAD SAFE DEAFULTS, it did it for all the screens.

SO, now i have the chore of digging through all the settings to see which one exactly was causing the system to hang.

Anyway, at least i have sound now.

I got my audigy working I spoke to a tech who was very helpful from where I got my board he told me to try the 3rd pci slot on the audigy pci slot 1 is next to the agp slot count down from there after that it booted fine he also said that normally on most boards the 3rd pci is for sound and slots 2 and 4 or for modem and nic and when you get around slots 5 and 6 and you start having problems it is normally a irq confict I hope this info helps
