Am looking for some info, would like to know how these two boards are in comparison (head to head benchmarks) and if anyone knew of any links... was looking to buy the abit for a while now along with probably the 1800 XP, but I put if off cause I'm still in the middle of modding my first case. Before I know it the KT333's are out AND the MSI already costs less than the ABIT!!! (check out newegg)

I'm aware of their features, and both look attractive, but the thing that will probably decide it for me is this - can the RAID for either one be used as 8 device IDE non RAID? I heard somewhere that the abit can.... anyways any info will be greatly appreciated, price is not my greatest concern I prefer performance / stability ratio.

The RAID on ABIT you can use it for extra IDE device but HD only,
you you could have extra 4 hard drive on the mobo though only the first one
[RAID 1 master] can be the boot up hd. on the original ide you can use all
four devices for boot up, there is a selection on the bios.

On MSI you can not use the RAID for extra ide device you have to use it as RAID
but you can set up RAID ARRAY with only one HD on the RAID 1 master , so you
will have four original IDE and one extra HD on the RAID setup.

You can't go wrong with the stability and OC feature on ABIT KR7A
but the MSI w/ KT333 has some new feature like USB 2.0
ABIT has their KT 333 [AT7]but it's too much pricey around $200 and
there is no review yet about its OC capability

If you want to OC really bad take the ABIT KR7A, if you really want
KT333 I suggest you take ASUS A7V333, moreover if you want a cheaper
yet still has some feature then MSI or EPOX are your choice.

I have the Abit KR7A Raid board and it rocks, rock stable, running 3 hard drives and a burner and CD with room to grow.
I like the extra IDE ports and you don't have to Raid them . I'm not running raid but have that option if I want it.
