SOURCE

Sutton said "Initial specs (of the GTX 980 Ti) put this monstrous Maxwell-powered graphics card at roughly 50% more powerful than the GTX Titan Black. That's some serious power under the hood, but where does it all come from? Firstly, the GM200 GPU will be on a 551mm2 die, with an estimated 20-22 Streaming Multiprocessors Maxwell (SMM) giving a total of between 2560 and 2816 CUDA cores. This will all be on a 384-bit memory bus, up from the 256-bit bus seen on the GeForce GTX 980 and the GeForce GTX 970."

Take with a grain of salt.

Yields must be really low on this card if it taped out about the same time as GM204 but takes 5 more months to launch...AND they launch a new kepler card for compute.

Never heard of KpopStarz before...what is their source?

They don't have one? Then it's not journalism. At least they don't claim that it's anything more than a rumor, unlike other sites I could mention (*cough*WCCFTech*cough)

GM200 can't be too far away now since NV has Pascal on the roadmap for 2016 and presumably Volta after that in late 2017. At this pace Maxwell generation could be short-lived compared to Kepler (GTX680 March 2012 ---> Sept 2014 for 980). I have my doubts that Maxwell will last 2.5 years before being replaced by Pascal. With 28nm holding us back, I think we will see dramatic improvements in performance in 2016 and beyond. 50% faster than Titan Black is way off pace that 780Ti set against the 580. If true, this will be a rather average generational increase from GK110. It's still excellent given the 28nm node but I feel like the next generation on 16nm will really set the world on fire.

This gen seems like all architectural gains with no node benefits for NV. With Pascal we will get a new architecture + a new node + HBM. Should be a way bigger leap from GM200 than GM200 will be over GK110, at least in theory. February launch frame sounds good as it's just in time for big games such as Witcher 3 and Project CARS, both GW titles.

Feb 2015 is not unrealistic. Taped out awhile ago now and 28nm yields shouldn't be a problem given how mature it is.

Hmm, given the die size, may be trying to optimise performance. Don't forget that it is not just a gaming GPU. It is the full monty with the compute built in. They've been marketing their new line with efficiency being highlighted, so i wouldn't be surprised if they've been having slight troubles hitting their target performance numbers.
