The only issues I've had with it had to do with W7, not Steam. Just make sure the game has the latest update and you're running it in XP (SP2) compatibility mode with admin rights.

Well, I assume that it will automatically have the most recent updates as of the date of purchase. As for playing it in XP SP2 mode w/ admin rights, how do I do that?

Locate the .exe (for me it's \Steam\steamapps\common\swkotor). Right click, select properties and then select the Compatibility tab. Check the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' box and select Windows XP (Service Pack 2).

As for updating it...in that same directory, run swupdate.exe.

Ok, all the mod talk on this thread is about KotOR 2, right? KotOR (original) was, in my opinion, a very complete game!

Yeah KOTOR 2 was broke and incomplete. Theres actually data for the cut content on the CD's. People have taken that and tried to restore it in the actual game along with some fixes to make everything work.

KOTOR has no content fixes but I think there was an unofficial patch for the disc version to help a couple minor bugs.
The Steam version introduced new bugs that no one has bothered fixing.
