Korn?s bizarre cover of Cameo?s ?Word Up?

*sniff* smells like someones "talent" pool ran dry.

lets not forget the floyd cover of the wall.

originals are much better in my opinion.

well, they're both from a greatest hits album.. greatest hits albums tend to not have new material on them... these are just bonus tracks...

well, yes, bonus tracks, but bonus tracks intended to make them a ton of money without doing any real work. your argument would be more valid if neither had been/ will be released as singles, or if they only played them live. and greatest hits albums often have one or two new songs on them - usually the only GH albums that don't are from dried up old hacks trying to squeeze every last dime out of past fame.

stop being such a baby.. EVERY track a musician makes is intended to make money with as little work as possible....

I find the song uniquely funky for a korn track and, after listening to the original, think they out did the original.

I stopped liking Korn the moment Issues came out.
MTV got to their heads quite a bit, but they are in this to make money as much as possible after all.
Regardless, I wish they never would have changed styles.

I?m not sure if I like this or not but it?s just weird hearing this coming from Korn. It?s oddly catchy and .. umm.. danceable?

You can't say that Korn doesn't try new things.... Jon Davis is supposed to be a huge depeche mode fan - make a damn synth pop album already!
Sort of like Ozzy's cover of Stayin' Alive?

Hey Avalon,
you're entitled to your opinion so I won't argue if new korn is better/worse than old korn but.. if they didn't change with time wouldn't that make them stale and boring? aren't people supposed to change over time? did you like the same stuff you liked 10 years ago?

but, but, gahh! MTV brainwashing...arggghh....close....minded...so.....frustrating....

sigh....nevermind....

/hangs head in disgust...

Rush said it so well......

"All this machinery
Making modern music
Can still be open-hearted
Not so coldly charted
It?s really just a question
Of your honesty

One likes to believe
In the freedom of music
But glittering prizes
And endless compromises
Shatter the illusion
Of integrity

For the words of the profits
Are written on the studio wall,
Concert hall ---
Echoes with the sounds...
Of salesmen."

Uhhh... maybe the bands you listen to. Certainly a lot of artists need money to eat, but I do think that the true one's love their craft first and are happy to be able to make money from it second.

I'm not going to argue with you over whether they're better or not, either. It is indeed just my humble opinion. However, as far as changing goes. No, they did not need to change the way they did. They turned into a completely different band, when the one they were was perfectly successful in its own way. Listen to their second album, then listen to their third. I think the changes between the two were what I'd call appropriate changes. What they did from Issues, onward...well...who knows. They were a very unique band to begin with. I do like the same stuff I listened to 10 years ago. In fact, my favorite music came from the early 90s. I still listen to old Bush, old Offspring, Nirvana, and others. Great music.
