Just out of curiosity, is there any group that ATOT thinks has gotten BETTER with age? Every time a band is brought up all I see is the boring "they used to be good but now they suck" comments from self-proclaimed musical elitists. It's tiring.
Metallica. And the Smashing Pumpkins, before they broke up.

METALLICA?!?!

Well, I guess it wouldn't be hard to improve on the tripe they started with, so...maybe. Well....nah, "suck" is still "suck" regardless.

Metal up your a$$ is not tripe. And just because a band who has been playing for over 20 years wants to try out some different styles of music doesn't mean that they suck.

Are you still using Windows 3.1 or DOS 6.2 because people liked it when it came out??

Korn before Life is Peachy : We will never go on MTV, we are Ant-MTV* Translation: We were never on MTV, so what do we know?

Korn After Life is Peachy: We embrace MTV because we are now getting millions.* Translation: We got money....ummm...Yeah, MTV rules along with NSYNC

*Actual quote may vary.

I'm sorry, new Metallica is awful.

I don't really like it either personally. But I understand the group wanting to venture into a style that isn't so "safe" for them.

Usually bands that do not make it big, i guess. I personally think Blur has got better with age, but on the same token, they may have turned for the worst.

I could go on and on on why Korn is the best metal band of all time... but you guys would just disagree, so it's pointless.

Just know this, Korn is my favorite band...ever.

As for Korn hitting rock bottom... the song, along with their other 2 covers, were for their Greatest Hits album. When you have already accomplished everything a rock band can, then some, maybe you wanna try something else for a change?

Exactly my point about Metallica.

WTF do they need a "Greatest Hits" for?

Don't worry... Metallica is my second favorite :) And I'm not one of those elitists... I like new Korn and Metallica as well. Morons need to understand that styles change over the years... Get used to it. Would any long lasting band still be successful if they sounded the same as they did on their first album? No. People would get sick of it.

Well, some bands can be versatile with their music, some can't. Metallica is one band that can't.

Pink Floyd songs sucked when Pink Floyd played them. Now we have bands rehashing this suckiness.

Heheh... a Korn thread turned into a Metallica thread.

How about the Korn cover of Metallica's "One"? I personally liked it, even though I'm not a Korn fan

I think they have gotten progressively better, especially since they aren't scared to venture out into new styles. You can't tell me that their symphony style wasn't on par with their older stuff, IMO it was better. Their last album was very different, and I personally liked it albeit it may be their only exception to not getting progressively better, for the most part their latest music still is great.

Btw, Deftones is another band, albeit still babies (in comparison to bands who have stood the test of time) their stuff has gotten progressively better.

Korn is still good, although I didn't particularly care for the Floyd cover, it wasn't horrendous.
