Heheh... a Korn thread turned into a Metallica thread.

How about the Korn cover of Metallica's "One"? I personally liked it, even though I'm not a Korn fan

What about Limp Bizkit's cover of Sanitarium?

I'm not a Bizkit fan, but that one actually came out better than I'd expect from them. Still like the original better, though

Yes the original is definitely better. Bizkit did do a good job with it live though last year. (or the year before....they all run together now)

Just out of curiosity, is there any group that ATOT thinks has gotten BETTER with age? Every time a band is brought up all I see is the boring "they used to be good but now they suck" comments from self-proclaimed musical elitists. It's tiring.
Metallica. And the Smashing Pumpkins, before they broke up.

METALLICA?!?!

Well, I guess it wouldn't be hard to improve on the tripe they started with, so...maybe. Well....nah, "suck" is still "suck" regardless.
I think they have gotten progressively better, especially since they aren't scared to venture out into new styles. You can't tell me that their symphony style wasn't on par with their older stuff, IMO it was better. Their last album was very different, and I personally liked it albeit it may be their only exception to not getting progressively better, for the most part their latest music still is great.

Btw, Deftones is another band, albeit still babies (in comparison to bands who have stood the test of time) their stuff has gotten progressively better.

Korn is still good, although I didn't particularly care for the Floyd cover, it wasn't horrendous.

Metallica's biggest problem is their "OMG, WE ARE SO BADASS L33T HAX0RS!!!" attitude. Groups that break their own arms patting themselves on the back about how they are so cool are irritating.

Pink Floyd songs sucked when Pink Floyd played them. Now we have bands rehashing this suckiness.

lol whatever dude. Just sit back with your foo-foo drink and enjoy listening to your Yanni albums.

The softest music in my collection is Iron Maiden (which is my all time favorite band).

Sorry, Floyd sucks.

Wish You Were Here, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Money, One of These Days, Comfortably Numb??

You don't like any of these songs at all?

Good grief, narrow minded much?

I prefer having a wide range of musical taste. Restricting yourself to one group or style....seems self-defeating - you are really shutting your mind to some impressive artistic expressions.

Really, I don't. I am in my mid 30s so I have heard their songs for many years, but I just don't care for their style.

If I've listened to their music and don't like it, that doesn't make me narrow minded. Otherwise, you could be referred as the same if you don't like, say rap or bluegrass. It's preference, that's all.
