Hello ATOT,

I was wondering if any of you who are proficient with the Korean language can help me with a small task. I would like to have something translated into Korean (formal/polite speak) from English.

Can someone help me with this? I'll paypal $10 as compensation.

Thanks in advance! PM me and we can talk details. :)

I am proficient.

I was a consecutive translator for 200 member Korean church congregation, translating sermons real time for English-speaking audience.

It's quite personal so I don't want it plastered all over the internet. I'm writing a letter to my girlfriend's parents. Since I don't know Korean, I'm writing it in English and I need it translated into written Korean (the polite form of speak).

I've tried using babelfish and I let my girlfriend read it. She basically told me it sounds funny and awkward, plus it used the colloquial form of speak.

I can either mail you $10 by snail mail or get you a $10 gift card at a retailer of your choice. I'm writing the letter now so I'll send it to you once I'm done. Thanks!

No problem. Just keep in mind, there is a small chance I will not be able to get through the entire thing. I am proficient, but my vocabulary isn't amazing.

MustangSVT has been translating professionally for 3 years, so I'll see what he can do for me. Thanks! I'll let you know if it falls through.

She speaks conversational Korean. She has trouble translating a lot of the things I say in English into Korean when I talk to her mom. We are both college-educated so of course we are able to have a sophisticated conversation in English.

It's like me talking to my mom in Chinese--I sound like a child and I can't for the life of me convey the sentence, "Faith is belief in the absence of proof" in Chinese even though I'd recognize it if I heard it in Chinese. :)
