It looks like Korean monitors are starting to support FreeSync now.

Any word as to the range of refresh rates?

It looks like the upper limit is 60 Hz. Not sure what the lower limit is.

Can also be found on ebay for $750. Oh, and apparently it's a 10-bit panel to boot.

edit - Someone on [H] reported that it can do 1920x1080 at 120Hz. So I guess we'll need a full set of specs to know exactly what it can/can't do.

Sure. Got $2,000 burning a hole in your pocket?

Ugh.... So mad. Anything bigger than that?
Above 42 inches for monitors is just ridiculous pricing. Above 70 inches for HDTV is just stupid pricing.

Not even that bad though given it has freesync. I really hope they make bigger models down the line with it.

How can you tell it's freesync?

The name of the firmware update that added FreeSync support to the 42" model is "UHD550,420_FreeSync.zip (2.2M)". I think it's probably safe to assume that it would add FreeSync capability to the 55" UHD as it did for the 42".

I'd assume the same, but would wait to see if user's in OC forum thread confirms it works on 55" model. Also not sure if it applies to 55" model, but in same thread you want to at least make sure it's HDMI 2.0 model with service USB(the one linked by Creig does so should be good). From thread "Whatever you do, make sure you get HDMI 2.0 version of this monitor. The older HDMI 1.4 model has inferior OSD, no service USB port for firmware upgrades and no Freesync. Shame I did not know that before ordering"

That's a bummer. Are you able to return/exchange it for the HDMI 2.0 model?

I didn't buy one, just reading the OC thread on feedback and quoted someone who had the older UHD420 model. I'm with you that the 55" you linked is most likely Freesync capable, but I'd make sure after reading about that. I'm really interested in the 42" model so doing my homework.
