Wife and I were invited for dinner this past weekend but the host (non-korean) didn't know name of the dish she learned from a Korean friend.

Ingredients:
slices of boiled sweet potato
rice pasta noodles
sesame leaves?
cabbage (or was it asian lettuce)
vinegared red pepper paste
...i think thats it for ingredients

mix all into wok or pot and keep stirring until chicken is fully cooked.

EDIT: It's Dak Kalbi!

I was gonna say Bibimbop, but that has more to it, like some meat and an egg on top...

it was good stuff! spicy coz of the red pepper paste but healthy coz majority of it is ruffage (cabbage + sesame leaves)

to clarify - rice pasta noodles, i mean the thick white with diameter of about 3/4 inches. she bought a bag of it from a korean grocery store refrigerated. so, 3/4 inches diameter and each piece is about 2 to 3 inches long.

Probably nappa cabbage or kim chi.

I would expect wheat noodles for it to be guksu. The chopchae sounds right, although the sweet potato has me a little confused.

chopchae is mung bean noodles.

i'm pretty sure he is describing white wheat noodles. i can't think of a korean dish with rice noodles.

mb it's Duk Bok Ki, but thick thick "noodles".

it wasn't clear rice noodles that are 1mm diameter,

they were white rice noodles the size of my thumb and about 3 inches long as I described in another post above.

ya, than it is duk bok ki, not really noodles. strands of rice cake.

but it is unusual to put sweet potatoes in duk bok ki.

for the record, i make a damn good duk bok ki. the key to this dish is, as hot, salty and sweet as you can tolerate.

good stuff. ;)

it wasn't teokbokki

majority of the dish was the cabbage and green sesame leaves.

the rice cake noodle, chicken and sweet potato round slices was there but much less in quantity for the entire dish

i prefer the pork kalbi than beef kalbi......for some reason the marinade goes better together with pork.
