North and South Korea exchanged gunfire across their heavily armed land border on Friday

...

The last time the two Koreas were exchanged fire was in January, the they fired artillery round at disputed sea border.

A few gunshots between belligerents, thankfully no one was hurt.

This comes just a few days after Korea sent free food / aid to The Better Korea, enabling The Better Korea to divert more resources to their military.

A freighter carrying 5,000 tons of rice left the southern port of Gunsan on Tuesday and headed for the Chinese border city of Dandong, where the rice will be loaded onto trucks for delivery in North Korea.

...

Cement and medicine also will be delivered to North Korea by December

Between the sinking of the Korean ship, gearing up for another atomic bomb test and this, Dear Leader wants more handouts.

Ther is some kind of a G8 or G20 summit going on so North Korea wants to make an incident. This is just a communist stunt to get attention, similar to a temper tantrum thrown by a 5 year old!

Why are we surprised? The PRK have been doing this shit since the Truce in 1953.

Would N. Korea be so belligerent or even be a problem if China wasn't backing them?
Without China the N. Koreans would starve and freeze and the Commie government would be gone.

I believe China is egging them on, making trouble so the US has to keep defense forces in the area, spending money to do so.

Chinese plan to bankrupt America is working!

Do you actually believe the crap you spew? The US has had forces in the region since the Korean Conflict ended in 1953 and just now it's going to bankrupt the US.

Why does anyone help North Korea? It sucks for their people, but giving aide to Kim Jong-Il does nothing for the people. Either go in there and kill their leader, usurp their government, and establish some form of unified Korea. Yes under South Korea, all you NK lovers(AZN) fuck off. Do that or stop giving them money, food, resources. Morons. Only an idiot feeds a dog that is constantly biting them.

It's the only humanitarian thing to do. (kill Jung-Il, usurp the Government)

But, then, if you look at Africa, etc., you get that we aren't humanitarian as a country. (Individuals are another matter entirely.)

As a Country, it's all just "fun and games."

I'm not sure killing leader would do much good. They worship him like a god and it would really piss them off if we killed him or his heirs.

You have to watch this on netflix to understand

I read that South Korea is giving food in return for family reunions or something of this sort. Ultimately though, they give this help under gunpoint from NK.

We have cost-sharing agreements with Japan and Korea, they pay for a sizable chunk of our forces stationed there.

Not to mention China is a direct force against us, as they should be.

Little North Korea/South Korea games mean nothing to them. Currently they are tearing us up in the trade war.

That's the real war.

South Korea's navy fired warning shots to drive away a North Korean fishing boat at a maritime border on Wednesday, the second incident in six days, jangling nerves in Seoul ahead of next week's G20 summit.
The South Korean capital, about 100 km (60 miles) south of the demilitarized zone dividing the peninsula, is on heightened alert ahead of the summit over concerns Pyongyang may try to create an incident to embarrass its rival.

Looks like they are still probing / testing South Korea, I wonder what kind of stunts The Reds will pull during the G20 summit. My money is on another nuclear test.
