Koolance Exos-2 upgrades/mods - questions

Hi guys,

I have a Koolance Exos-2 with an older DFI Ultra-D board on a Amd X2 3800+. I am planning to slowly migrate into a more sophisticated water cooling system. A few questions for you:

1) Do you have a recommended WB for the NF4 chipset? Meaning, one that I can use once I upgrade my sytem to Penryn next year...I understand that the NF4 chipset interferes with the video card but I am planning to shift the video card into the secondary PCI-E since I dont use SLI, so restriction is not a problem

2) For tubing, would you recommend the 7/16 ID and 5/8 OD tubes for the Koolance Exos-2 System? The current Exos-2 uses a 3/8 ID tube... if I use the 7/16, in your opinion, would that produce leaks in the system?

3) 120mm fans. Would you recommend Yates vs Scythe vs others ? I understand that Yates are cheaper in terms of costs... does the Scythe fans have an incremental advantage over the cheaper fans?

1. koolance needs to stay with koolance products, because of the mixing of metals issue.

2. Not a very big difference. However, koolance isnt that great in h2o cooling. Personally i would leave it as it is, because native would still be 3/8 if not smaller. Your not gaining anything by using a widener to 7/16.

3. Yates are the absolute best in price/performance/noise ratio. In all my rigs, i use yates.

Thanks Aigomorla. I have been reading a lot of prior posts and you seem to know a lot about water cooling... anyways, when u mentioned that I should not mix the WB, would either the D-TEK cpu water block or the swiftech Apogee GT be an expection?
