KooKooRoo - Buy a $20 GC, get a $5 GC FREE!

I just ate at a KooKooRoo today, and they gave me this ad that said if you buy a $20 gift card they will give you a $5 for FREE. Break it down, and this represents a 25% discount before you even use any coupons!
😀
Here is the link for the website, but do not bother buying them there (as they charge S/H). Get them in the actual stores. No limit, as far the website and ad say.

Locations are only in Southern Califronia:

Norms and conditions in Southern California have amused others for years, so it should be no surprise that your 25% -- $5 off $25 (20+5) -- is only a 20% discount here on the East Coast. 🙂

20% off??? 5 divided by 20 is 0.25 (25%). So you end up saving that amount on the meals you buy. You would be gettinga 20% savings on your meal purchases if they only gave you a $4 GC for free. (5/20=0.20)

Assume you were going to spend the $20 on food there anyways, and it makes sense.

Remedial mathematics for the block, Wink. The answer is 20% off.

You do however get 25% more free.

(and I, like Basilisk, reside on the east coast as well)

Perhaps that is what I was trying to state, but with the wrong terms.

25% more food for free.
