I bought the Dimage G500 about six months ago for $330. I don't know about the G600 but there can't be much different to the G600 from the G500 except of course the imaging sensor.

The G500's 1.3 second startup time is for real!!! It is actually ready for pictures in 1.3 seconds, compared to other cameras that take a couple seconds to turn on, then a second or two for the LCD to illuminate fully. Battery life is pretty good too, the camera will last a good 2 hours on a full charge. Pictures come out beautifully and there are tons of customizable settings. Another awesome feature is the fact that they come with dual memory slots. Which is excellent if you are upgrading from a different brand, you can still use your memory cards.

I would highly recommend that anyone looking for a good point and shoot digital camera, check this one out.

Well thats my two cents.
