Yep that's just how all laser printers are. Even the black toner is very expensive.....almost costs as much as a cheap laser printer. They sell the printers dirt cheap and gouge you on the cartridges just like inkjets do. Guess you just have to determine how bad you need color.....I personally refill my toner cartridges myself it's much cheaper like $15 a cartridge for black toner.

i read it all the time, people are actually buying these color lasers when they go on sale like this and just store them away until their current cheap color laser runs out of stock toner. then, instead of changing toners they just sell the printer or throw it out and bust out the whole new printer.

it seems like a terrible waste, but the money works. so, to be honest, im going to start doing the same thing! money is money!

pity that they migrated ink jet business model to laser too.

Exactly!...the landfills are getting full of old and new printers simply because it's cheaper to buy a new printer than buy either toner or inkjet refills. I don't use my printer a lot. I switched to the laser printer to avoid problems with the ink drying out and the heads clogging when my inkjet sat for awhile unused. 🙂

^^ yeah ive been hanging onto my inkjet because i dont want to lose the ability to print on cd's, but then you realize i rarely ever make cd's or dvd's anymore. and if i need to print photos theres a walgreens always open

my guess with the way color lasers have been maturing the last 2 years, inkjets will soon be a thing of the past
