I am currently using Kodi on a Chromebook, and smartcasting that to my TV.

I'd imagine with technology and the capabilities of modern TV, cutting out the Chromebook/laptop/PC should be possible no? I'd like to simply run Kodi directly off my Vizio E70-E3 TV.

There is a "smartcast" option on my TV that brings up all the apps, netflix/hulu/ whatever... It would be amazing to just run Kodi...? This has to be possible no?

If your smart TV is android based then yes you can. If not Android then using your chromebook or some other form such as fire stick etc is the only way to get kodi to work. Certain TV's do not support Android: Vizio, Panasonic, Samsung and LG. Brands that do support android: Sony, Phillips and Sharp.

I have 3 Fire sticks and one Fire box in my house. I run KODI on the fire box and on one fire stick. All of my TVs are Samsung except for my Sony in our bedroom. The Firestick works so well I don't care to install Kodi directly on the TV.
