Order the Kodak quick charger (IM1906814) from staples.com, it comes with 4 1450mAh AA batteries. Then add another 4pk (IM1015323) 1600mAh AA batteries. Use a coupon to take $20 off, The total is $36.32 shipped with a quick charger and some best NiMH batteries. (2 years Kodak warranty) You've to pricematch with onvia.com. Good for digicam.
Btw, I used to have Sam's Energizer NiMh Kit, the charger was too slow, had to return it.

Quote from Kodak Tech Support:

As you may know, the improved KODAK PHOTOLIFE Ni-MH Rechargeable
Battery, KAAHR, has 1600 mAh while the original one had 1450 mAh. The
improved version is available on a stock turnover basis. Once the
original 1450 mAh batteries are sold through, the improved version will
start shipping out. Unfortunately, we have no way of determining when
this may occur as inventories will vary.

The catalog numbers given in your e-mail are for the same product, the
KODAK PHOTOLIFE Ni-MH Rechargeable Battery, KAAHR. However, the
batteries are packaged differently (shrink wrapped vs. carded), thus
they have a different catalog number.

If you would like to obtain additional information on the PHOTOLIFE
Ni-MH Rechargeable Battery, KAAHR, please feel free to visit the

So the difference is the staples one you get 8 batteries and no car charger,
the Thomas Dist you get a Car charger but only 4 batteries..

Looks like the charger from Thomas is a little better than this one since it does slow and fast charging, but the extra 4 bats are hard to beat..

Thomas dist. charges for shipping though; and this is $6 or $8...i forget; sounds like a good deal though for this kodak charger; does it support 1600ma batteries though?

But this is made better if you price match with thomas distributing. I was about to do it some time ago, but decided that the Maha was my preffered choice. I believe there are better stores to price match also, for only the purpose of price matching though.

They have the Kodak Photolife Charger Kit for $38.90

And the 4 Pack "AA" Photolife NiMH 1600mAH Batteries for $16.90

So that is a total of $55.80, Pricematch @ Staples. Then take the $20 coupon for a final price of 35.80. I know that Staples will charge shipping and handling, but if you get lucky they won't charge as i can't find it anywhere...unless you go through the checkout process.

final price 35.80

Now that I think about it, nevermind it's not worth the savings. But I would check with staples to make sure you are getting the 1600 MAH batteries.

Just a passing thought, that is why I posted my thread here. Sometimes getting the ABSOLUTE CHEAPEST PRICE on something isn't a good thing. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Offered as an alternative only. You Be The Judge.
