Anyone see that Kodak digital camera on the Oprah show that has the display screen so you can preview your pictures before you commit them to film?
Basically, it is a film camera, but you can preview your pictures, thus wasting less film.
I heard about this thing! I think it was on CTV AM or something in Canada...sounded cool but correct me if I'm wrong...by its very nature it must be storing the pictures in a flash memory (since no camera can commit to film then delete if you don't want) - and then if you do want it then it finally writes to film, correct? If this is the case you have the quality issues that you have with all but the very best digital cameras...ie, they are not as sharp as a decent 35mm most of the time...
You are correct. It does print to film every time. The preview screen is just there to be sure your picture is satisfactory so you can take another shoot if it isn't. Still a pretty cool idea.
