Kodak camera dock

I got a Kodak camera (CX7530) cheap from a yard sale, to give to my dad. I also got the Kodak camera dock 6000. But no battery. I'm guessing it's supposed to use this battery pack, which I don't want to buy, but why couldn't the dock charge a pair of standard NiMH AA cells? Someone in one of the reviews here (see review "Easy to use but charging a minus, December 10, 2003 By A Customer") says it won't, as does this. How is that possible?

That camera should be able to take AA's. I would invest in some high quality Rechargeable AA's instead of messing with those stupid docks.

They come precharged and work great. They also don't drain when not in use, or at least not as bad as NiMH and other rechargeables used to.

I actually bought 2 sets. 8 Batteries total. I don't think I've ever had to switch batteries during a single outing, and IIRC, I've been able to go out a few times on the same set. But, the A80 can take 4 batteries.

I have a lot of NiMH batteries, which was the reason for my question.

FYI, the LSD batteries you linked ot are NiMH too.

Ahh sorry. But, still, get the standalone charger and forget the dock.
