Kodak 4800 connection software prevents boot in Win2k & XP!

First of all, it works fine in Win98. But I have that installed on a different machine, and I don't want to install that entire OS JUST FOR THE CAMERA!

Ok, so I install the connection software, and I reboot. But while Win2k loads, it abruptly stops (at the same point every time) and says it couldn't load "dccam.sys". I think it also says it's some problem with the .dll or something. It happens in safe mode, and the only way to fix it is to reinstall windows2k with a boot disk. Very frustrating to say the least. I tried this with the version from the CD (1.0) and the new version (1.2) and they both have the same error.

I tried the software it XP and it would not recognize when the camera was connected.

I know A LOT of anandtechers bought the Dc4800 and run Win2k, so I hope someone can help me out. WTF is the problem?

Also, this thing was working when I was running WinME...

no problems here..win2k or xp. Xp doesnt need any connection software BTW.... check you event logs to see if you can gather some more details
