And it even includes the usual right wing bullshit we have come to know and love.

The zoo tax would replace a 0.75-mill levy that expires at the end of 2015 and brings in $18.9 million a year. It would cost homeowners $44 a year per $100,000 of property value. The current levy costs $21 a year.

The group’s mailing calls it a “money grab” that would be “a 105 percent property-tax hike.”

Nothing misleading about that at all.

It's also fiction that the levy will double a taxpayer's entire tax bill.

It's a 1.25 mill levy, which translates to a half-percent increase on only the zoo portion of taxpayers' tax bills.

It's a fact that the zoo is located in Delaware County, rather than Franklin County. When the zoo first opened, it was located in downtown Columbus, but community leaders knew growth was inevitable, and the location was moved to Powell.

A common question from voters is why residents of Franklin County should pay the increased taxes when the zoo is in another county.

Whether Franklin County, OH residents should pay for a zoo in Delaware County, OH is clearly an issue for billionaires from NYC and Kansas to weigh in on.

Could you show an example of "emo-rage" in this thread or are you just trolling again?

And, like clockwork, you show up with a few tired and repetitive insults.

The only "emo-rage" in this thread so far is yours.

The only one who mentioned Walmart in this thread was you.

You're too stupid to realize that's what was being discussed.. you were so caught up since your bell was rung that you didn't see anything else.

Really? That had to be explained to you?

Seriously, it amazes me that you constantly prove that even a forum moves too fast for you. You can't even follow a thought from post to post. Conversing with you in real time must be an amazimg demonstration of "slow-witted".

I think you're getting a little emo-ragey. Might want to take a few deep breaths and calm yourself.

Hey don't let my post calling you loons out stop you from feeding that Koch rage! Don't chicken out and wait a few days for the next cut-n-paste Koch thread before you vent. :D

And yet even a cursory review of this thread shows that no one mentioned Walmart before you did.

And still no one has answered my question (since your emo-raging derailed the thread): how much does the Columbus zoo generate for the local economy? They call themselves 'Americans for Prosperity, ' so if their argument is that Columbus would be more prosperous without a zoo, they should be able to prove it without lying, right?

Even when its explained to you simple concepts are too much for you.

The funniest thing is you actually *prove* the Pavlov's bell point. :D

The article states $238 million for Franklin county alone, but doesn't elaborate. I know the Columbus zoo is a major regional attraction. I don't know how much of a "destination" it is, i.e., drawing people to the area specifically because of the zoo. It does look like a nice zoo based on their web site. I've added it to my bucket list, maybe next time I'm in Ohio.
