Exactly. Phill mentioned this in the press conference. Kobe got the green light to shoot the lights out. Oh man, did we get a treat.
 
Yeh 0 assists make sense. Someone else posted in another thread:

An assist only occurs when a player passes the ball and a teammate scores a field goal.
