This just reinforces the fact that Kobe's public image and marketability will never be the same following this whole incident. For my part, this sounds like a pretty transparent effort on his part to remind his wife that she will be fabulously wealthy if she stands by him through the process of his trial.

I would imagine most cheating husbands would do the same thing - buying wife presents. Kobe just happened to have a bigger budget.

I'm not saying who's right or wrong, just common sense. At least he's pumping some money into the economy. 🙂

I'm married and I'm 32 so I've certainly seen my share of marital disasters. I'm not saying some women won't go for the monetary "I'm sorry." but there are just as many (my wife for example) who would see right through that kind of BS.
