Kobe represented LA to the fullest with his hustle and game skills. I thought the Philly fans were disrespectful, but what can you do? They probably got a reminder of the embarassment they receieved when the Lakers raped them in the finals last year.

Philly fans were a bunch of jacka$$es, i admit kobe took way too many shots and im by no means a fan of him or lakers. but to treat a hometown guy like that is just plain mean. I thought kobe did a good job responding the boos with grace. the philly fans are the most unclassy fans in the nba.

Philly fans can shove it. Kobe is not only the MVP, he is a 2-time defending champion as well. Who cares if he grew up there. He is a laker now and he will get the recognition he deserves when he comes back home. LA loves him...who cares about philly.

Kobe took the shots because he was making them. If I was Iverson (shot 2 for 9) or Jordan (4 for 13), I wouldn't have taken that many shots either ;)

Kobe went 12 for 25 :Q. Of all the starters, only Tim Duncan shot a better percentage than that :)

That's cool, although I'm not a big fan of the All-Star game. Shows you how much I don't like the All-Star game, I'm a huge basketball fan, I'm a huge Lakers fan, I never miss a Laker game, I love Kobe, and I even watch a few more games from other teams a night on NBA League Pass, but I just didn't feel like watching the All-Star game. I actually totally forgot it was on.

I don't really think Kobe deserved to be the MVP, I thought it was Payton. But I was very happy for him to win it even though he was booed. At least the NBA has class.

All Star games have never been the same since Isiah and Magic. Man Kobe was about to cry when Grey interviewed him.

Jim Gray sucks ass. He always likes to rub salt in the wounds of athletes, with his stupid quirky smile. F*ck him.

Damn, I wish I would have saw the game. Poor Kobe, I think it was really important for him to get some nice treatment from people in his hometown after last years finals. He may not have admitted it last year, but the booing hurt, even during the finals. Totally classless behavior by the Philly people.

i still think he took too many shots, 12/25 is a mere 48 percent, thats like his average. in an star studded all-star game, unless you shoot 60 percent or better, u just dont take 25 shots. heck, kobe only takes 20 shots a game when hes with his own team. The point of an allstar game is not to outshine other stars by jacking up shots but to have fun and entertain the fans. but he does deserve mvp since no one else had the balls to take that many shots and have the confidence that they will go in, gotta give the guy credit for believing in himself.

nevertheless, i still fell sorry for the guy, looks like he was gonna cry when they interviewed him on the bench in the 4th quarter with his depressed facial expressions. i'd be pissed too if i was an nba star getting booed going back to my hometown.

<< Man I'm so glad NBC is losing the NBA. No more Rashad, Gray, Costas, and Walton. >>

I second that. Jim Gray is a complete moron. Costas is a baseball man, not basketball, and is annoying anyway. Walton loves to heap massive undue praise on someone for making one decent shot, then completely change his mind later on. And Ahmad "Jordan Brown-noser #1" Rashad has his nose so far up Michael Jordan's ass it's sickening. If I have to listen to Ahmad Rashad call Jordan his "main man" one more time, I'm gonna puke.

Yup...No one can call a game like Chick Hearn. I used to hate when NBC got Laker games because I'd have to listen to those f*cks

Although Barkley, Kenny "The Jet" Smith, and Ernie "White Bread" Johnson are annoying the hell out of me these days. They totally fsked up All Star Saturday. The Slam Dunk contest was a joke. Too much commentary not enough substance. The wheel? WTF were they thinking? Interviews before and after a dunk. Jeez.

The damn reporters and commentators outnumbered the contestants.

Jim Grey, " Uhhh....Gee, Kobe, why do you think they're booing you? Does it make you sad?"

Kobe (fighting tears), "SNNNIIIFF, yeah I kind of feel bad."

Jim, "Do you think it's because you're a Laker?"

Kobe (fighting tears), "SNNNIIIIFF, uhm, I don't know......I'm just going to try to play hard and have a good time"

Dude! Stop asking him such a stupid question. How the hell is he supposed to answer??

Jim is a real idiot.

Otherwise, if you're making millions upon millions per year, that's something you gonna have to get used to. MJ was booed just as much as he was cheered back in the day. I love Kobe's game. I think I'm older than him by a few months ;)

Another reason why I hate my hometown. Philly sport fans are a bunch of (sore) losers . Always have been and always will be.....classless drunken toads.
