I read somewhere that he was in Denver for arthoscopic knee surgery. So him w/ a bum knee and bum shoulder from his previous surgery managed to "assault" some lady.

Let's see. Who should I believe. Some nameless accuser who wants to ruing Kobe's reputation, but won't even reveal her name, or Kobe Bryant who has no record or reason for doing such a thing, and came forward to answer the charges.
I guess anonymous accusations don't carry much weight with me. Call me a cynic.

HAHAHAHAHA
Unbelievable!!
you've got to read this story at
SportsPickle

they made up a story about Kobe "slappin a ho" in order to
improve his image and sell more sneakers (LaBron is stealing his thunder).
Makes a great read..highly recommend it.

Many athletes are known for not being in trouble. some athletes are know for being in trouble. that was not a stereotypical comment nor a generalization. It was a sarcastic 'snide' remark.

You still don't get it. Just because it's a sarcastic remark doesn't mean it isn't a stereoptical remark as well. For example:

[sarcasm]Famous athletes neeeeeeeeeever do anything wrong.[/sarcasm]

I am being sarcastic and at the same time stereotyping. You don't directly say it, but your sarcasm carries a stereotyping attitude. That's what he's getting at with your comment.

Does anyone ever have a reason?

Gaard - Yes and no. I don't think Kobe fits the typical profile for rape. Maybe some athletes think a woman should just do whatever for them and then they get violent and it leads to to assault but a) that has never been Kobe b) we don't know all the evidence and I still believe innocent till proven guilty.

You are saying that an athlete who can get almost any woman to do almost anything for him would go out and assault a lady for no reason?
The only reason for that would be if he enjoyed assaulting women, but that character flaw would have manifested itself before in some way.
I just don't buy it. It's such a broad subjective charge, and the society makes it so easy for women to falsely accuse men of anything from harrassment to assault, that I just have trouble believing an anonymous accuser who isn't willing to put her reputation on the line like she is putting Kobe's.
There is no motive for Kobe to have done what he's accused of doing, and there is plenty of motive for the woman and sheriff to accuse him of a BS charge.
I have some questions. If he is accused of something serious or violent, why is bond only 25K? And, when is the sherif up for reelection?

Bond is only $25k because everyone knows who he is, and he's unlikely to skip town, seeing as how he's been cooperative with authorities so far. It's just as easy to call it a conspiracy against Kobe as it is to say that he's scum, but I don't think any of us can really comment until more facts about the case come out.

A freind told me there was a press conference on FOX and the D.A. said he still didn't have enough to charge, and that Kobe could sue the sherrifs office for a wrongful arrest/libel/or something like that if he doesn't end up charging him.

Its all a case of a random ho trying to make a quick buck, I wouldn't be surprised if case gets dismissed within the next two weeks. It's a shame but even accusations can hurt someone's image.

Youre friend is full of it. The DA NEVER said he didnt have enough to charge him. On ESPN just now the D.A. said they were going through the police reports, talking to witnesses (apparently more than 1?) and they would file charges if they was no reasonable doubt. If they think the evidence is solid, they will file charges.

regardless of what happens I think his wife won't trust him like she did. He probably just got an offer from the Hot Bootied 19y/o did her she felt it was wrong after and then rationalized it by blaming him. remember guys these B-ballers are notorious for having multiple babies from different mothers. Doesn't Shawn kemp have 10 kids by 15 women? j/k :p

I guess everything was fine and dandy, and she doesn't really need to be there for the investigation?

Mark Cuban of the Mavericks says he'll take Kobe if nobody else wants him:

Link

A Western Conference executive scoffs at the idea that Bryant has damaged his reputation around the league.

"What has he really damaged? Michael Jordan had an affair, Jason Kidd `popped' his wife. They all still are fairly sought after, don't you think?" the executive says. "You don't think Jerry West (general manager of Memphis) really cares about this incident, do you? He would sign or sign and trade for him in a second."

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was even more blunt. "You let him know that our door is always open."

My sister is absolutely convinced that the case has merit.

As for staying anonymous... wouldn't you? Would you want reporters all over you at all hours as "the person who accused Kobe Bryant?"

We'll just have to see what happens and let the legal system do its work.

Uh its pretty standard for sexual assualt victims not to be named to the public or on public record. Its called protecting the victim. Bonds only $25k, because theres only an extremely small chance hed skip bail. Ive seen bail for murder 1 be that low.

Yeah! Let?s have the girl stay in town and have the media absolutely HAMMER her and ask her questions 24/7. Not to mention stalk her EVERYWHERE she goes and camp out in the front of her home waiting for them to leave.

Yeah she'll have been fine and dandy if she stated home
rolleye.gif

She had already given her testimony and there were other witnesses that were being investigated in the hotel/taxi. She has no reason to stay put and go through what the Media does to you. She has every right to go try and relax and not have to think and answer questions 24/7. IT could have been the advice of the sherrifs office and/or the DA for her to lay low, or her lawyers.
