That is how it seems to you? what exactly do you have to base that on? Do you know all the fact of the case? The little blurb linked in this thread is all that has come out from this case. How can you read that short blurb and come to that conclusion.

I'm not saying he did or didn't do it, but christ, some of you guys have really got to grasp reality. It's Kobe Bryant so it MUST be a made up story of a woman starving for attention, because athletes never do anything wrong.

pyonir - that's just my first reaction. i never said my first reaction had any factual basis. A lot of women deal with this and it is a horible thing. Guys who abuse women - I have no sympathy. It just seems that Kobe Bryant - if he wasn't getting the kind of love he wanted - could have any woman he wanted.

And felony sexual assault is the broadest charge I have ever heard. "Any sexual conduct you don't want." So if I go on a date with a girl, and I kiss her for a few seconds, but she doesn't want that, technically, she could press charges against me for felony sexual assault.

They also said they have sufficent evidence to charge him. Is it his word vs. her word? What other kind of evidence would there be - video cameras in their house? Unless he beat her - then he deserves jail time.

i don't believe this one bit.

i've chilled w/kobe a few times, and this is way out of his character. there is no way any of these charges are true.

i would think shaq would have gotten arrested before kobe ever did.

Shaq wants to become a police officer after he retires from basketball. I don't think he wants to get into trouble with the law.

define "chilled w/kobe"...
how well do you know him? you guys hang out regularly? you guys on a first name basis? does he even KNOW your name? you guys on each others speed dial?

unless you know him really well, what you saw when you "chilled" with him those few times doesn't define his true character.

Any single one of you who believe it could be true are absolute dumbsh!ts.

The Sheriff didn't even consult the District Attorney before he sought an arrest warrant for Kobe.... there have been no charges filed and the DA says he hasn't even seen the case....

CAN ANYONE SPELL

********************************EXTORTION*****************

Kobe went to the Police Station with his Wife and Child to turn himself in.

Hahaha, that's one of the first thing's I thought. Condsidering all the talk lately about his deal and LeBron's and who has street cred it makes sense that he'd go get himself nailed for something. Who know's if this is true but the timing is just way too funny.

My first reaction reading this news was like "WTF?". It's generally believed Kobe is a very good guy, almost like a Mark Madsen (who I've met on several occasions and who's an awesome guy btw :)).

However, based on what I've read at ESPN and other news sources I'd say there could be something to this case, though there really isn't a lot of info to even make that statement.

But we'll never know until both Kobe and the woman who pressed charges make some sort of official statements.
