Knwo any thign about Yo-Yos?

The Duncan Imperial was the one to have when I was a kid.
I know there are all sorts of gimmicky yo-yos, like the Yo-mega, etc.. but, they are sort of cheating, and some won't even do all the standard tricks such as ?walk the dog,? ?rock the baby,? etc.. Is the Duncan Imperial still the king? Or is there a better standard one out now?

Duncan is a good brand available at a lot of places. As long as the yo-yo has the loop built into the end attached to the yo-yo it should do alright. If the loop is bad, you can't really do any tricks. I preferred the Duncan Butterfly Yo-Yo when I had one. I had a black Duncan Imperial also. Was just a little easier to do tricks with the Butterfly. Then again it's been a few years since I've yo-yo'ed (jr. high or so) so you may want to as someone with more recent experience.

I never tried any of the Duncan yo-yos. I used to have a Yomega Brain Classic. I had a lot of fun with it until one day the string broke as I was getting ready to launch it and it went flying into the wall. The impact was so hard that it broke part of the clutch inside it. It was never the same. I see they now offer yo-yos with metal bearings. Hmm..

yoyos... heh. once upon a time I had a badass wooden yoyo that was a great sleeper. I used to be able to all that crap like walking the dog, and one time I actually rocked the cradle.

<---just realized he hasnt seen a yoyo in like 12 years :Q

I would rate the Duncan Imperial as a good entry level yo-yo. So many hours spent at lunch and waiting for the bus practicing my tricks in high school. Ahh the memories. I had a Midnight Special that I thought was awesome but I think the only difference was that it was black with silver lettering. I would recommend you stay away from the butterflies as they are a bit larger and unwieldy.

The Yomega Brain series yo-yos are pretty nice. I got into in elementary school about ten years ago. A couple years ago I borrowed a Brain cause I lost mine. Yo-yoing is fun.
