Knucklehead of the day...

I'm in the middle lane on a three lane county highway where the speed limit is 45. Doing about 45-50 like all the other traffic on the road. There's one of those big 1 ton pickup with the dump truck body on the back in the left lane up ahead of me. Well I guess the car in front of him slowed down so I started overtaking him in the middle lane. I'm watching him but not too closely as he just slows down with the car in front of him.
All of a sudden he decides he's getting over as I'm right along side of him. WHOA! No signal or anything. Luckily I've got room to go into the right lane so I hit the horn as I brake ahrd to avoid him. He swerves back into his lane and that's when I see he's got no rear view mirror on the right side of his truck. The mirror is all smashed out and it's just an empty housing. Holy smokes! He can't even see out the back window as there's only a small opening since it has a dump body on it. I can't believe this dude went out without even jury rigging a mirror of some kind. I drop way back giving him tons of room because I figure he can't see anything and he's moving over blindly and I'm not gonna get squished! So the nitwit woman behind gets all peeved because I've slowed down to give the truck space to get over. I don't know if she saw the guy almost cream me or what, but she decides, eff this I'm in a hurry and passes me on the right and gets back in the middle lane. RIGHT NEXT TO THE TRUCK WITH NO MIRROR! I drop back even further because I can see where this is going and sure enough the truck starts coming over again. This time with a turn signal at least. PO'ed woman must have crapped herself when she saw him coming over again, lol. On the horn, swerves into the right lane, lucky no one was there because she didn't even have time to look. Unbelievable. I can't believe these morons are licensed to drive.

I mean even if you had to drive, with no mirror on the right side of your truck, to get to a parts store, at least drive in the right hand lane!! So you don't need the mirror for changing lanes!!

I was thinking that, but the dude had all the time in the world to get over. He was in the left lane because until the car in front of him slowed down, it was moving faster than the other two lanes.
Last thing you should be doing with a missing mirror is trying to overtake. If it was a car it would not have been as much of an issue because looking over your shoulder you'd be able to see out the back and side windows for any cars there. With that dump body on there blocking out 90% of the back window, he couldn't see anything.

I have only had this crap happen 2 times to me by other cars its a fucking bad feeling lol. Luckily first one horn was good enough to make him swerve back before I had to slam on teh breaks and The second car was a G37 and I was looking at it and it tried to bite me! lol but I had no time for horn he just went into my lane no signal nothing and then he saw me swerving to avoid him so he swerved back into his lane luckily we were at the end of a highway so we were only traveling at 35ish and the rest of the road was empty so I just went into the other lane a bit. Then at the light he never looked my way lol.

Yesterday morning, I entered the FWY on ramp and saw a cop car pulled off to the side. As soon as I start to get close to him, the bastard steps on the gas and pulls out right in front of me. I had to slam on my brakes, sending all my junk to the floor. It also left me at a full stop right at the freeway entrance. Ever try accelerating quickly in a Prius?
Apparently, the cop spotted someone speeding and got so exited that he forgot to check for traffic before pulling out.

I wonder what would have happened if I nailed him......

I don't think a right side mirror is required in most states.

In Ontario, side mirrors are optional but I've never seen a car without them.

This kind of sh!t happens to me almost once a week. They never bother checking their mirrors or even give a quick glance over their shoulders. Another thing I hate are the assholes who think just because they signal they have the right of way to merge into my lane without looking at how fast I'm approaching on him or how tight the gap is.
