Know what happens when a UPS truck is in a bad accident?

Do you know what happens when a UPS truck is in a horrible accident? There is a 5-man crew dispatched to the scene who paint the truck white.

Actually I wouldn't have been surprised to find that's true. Protecting company image and all, once the police report is filled out I bet one of the first tasks the company does is remove the logos or cover the wreck in tarps as it awaits the cutting torch.

Sidenote, ever notice you don't see those goofy looking UPS trucks used by anyone else? See locksmiths using retired ambulances, people buy old vehicles of all sorts to use for other purposes, but not UPS trucks. When they can no longer be repaired they are junked by UPS to protect the company image, never going to see someone using a big brown truck as their weekend camper.

Unless that policy changed, was years ago I read about it.

I work for UPS here in Ontario Canada... and you are correct. No one will ever be able to purchase a UPS truck/Van/whatever. They're destroyed when they arent needed anymore. When they are in an accident... towed back to that depot and parked in the back of the lot so no damage is visable from the people passing by. If not too bad, it's taken to a body shop in Toronto somewhere in the middle of the night and fixed. 🙂
