Know of a free prog to compare folder contents?

I am looking for a FREE program that will tell me file differences in two or more folders. I have SO many photos over the last few years in multiple hard drives and then folders on those drives. Because I have multiple backups, I need to know folder X and folder Y do not have files that are found in folder Z. I want to consolidate my backups into as few locations as possible.

I need to compare two folders and then tell me the difference. Maybe even show me a thumbnail of the photos in a given folder? Allow me to copy files from one folder to another. Can any of you think of a free program that will do this competently?

Sorry guys, I wasn't clearer. To say I need to only find duplicates is not right. I need to find when a group of files is in one folder, but not another folder. So if Folder A has 10 files and folder B has 8 files then the utility will show me the two additional files in folder A.

Free commander can do that.
Open one directory on the left and one directory on the right.
Click Edit, folder compare , it will highlight the differences.
It also shows thumbnails .

Best free program I have downloaded this month. Doesn't install any junk and is very powerful.

You can also click the = sign on the vertical bar between the two windows and it will do a compare. You can customize what icons are on the vertical bar with a right click.

winmerge will do that but only for two folders at a time. Different timestamps may also throw it off.
