know how to insert symbols in word? well how do you do it in excel?

I have excel 97 and I can't add stupid symbols without copying them from word! Anyone know how to do this?

I am specifically looking for the phase symbol... I dunno maybe I am just dumb.

If it's in character map, just select/copy/paste it that way.

dono about Excel97, but Excel2002 just go to Insert -> Symbol.

I memorized all the codes alt + ####

I just type the character and change the font to symbol. That will give you the greek character corresponding to the letter typed. (I'm not sure what the phase symbol is, so this may not help.)
