In my younger years I have collected numerous cards from magic the gathering, marvel comic cards, SWCCG premiere and of course some baseball cards..

are any of these of any value anymore? would it be worth it to try and sell them on ebay? or does nobody collect them anymore?

Some of the older magic cards (alpha, beta... duh) are going up in value. If you happen to have a Black Lotus (*snicker*) that's moster cash right there.

yeah i remember that black lotus card. always was worth a ton of money. I didnt get into that game until revised was out though, so most of my cards are from revised.

I have a bunch of old marvel cards. I'm curious to know the monetary value as well.

i used to have a ton, but i sold them in bulk to my buddy. i guess if you take the time and sort them into commons/rares/uncommons then you can sell them as repacks and make OK money. (i.e. package up 12 commons 1 rare and 2 uncommons for like 3 bucks or something)

that way you get the most bang for your buck.

I used to collect SWCCG. About 10 years after I stopped collecting I checked out the scene again, but it looks like decipher closed down and now nobody is producing the cards.

Do you know what that means? It means in 30-50 years they might actually be worth something. Try ebay, see who bites

Haha. I've never played Magic, but I have dabbled in other CCGs. Despite it's complexity, I really did think Star Wars was the best, possibly due to an unhealthy Star Wars obsession in my youth.

It was damn near impossible to put together a deck though, I remember having 100 card deck games with friends just so that I could put in all my favorite cards.

but what if you have rares and stuff that are worth several dollars each? wouldn't it make more sense to look through and see what you have and then look up prices?

Would anyone know a good method of mailing cards sold through ebay? Something that is most cost effective for protecting the card during shipment?

That stuff is probably worth money if you can find someone stupid enough to buy it.

That's also how I felt. I wanted to play it and learn it, but there was just so much to do every turn. But Magic is still number 1 even though I haven't played in years.

Also did anyone here play the Battletech CCG? I could never find anyone to play with when I was younger.

Is there a price guide for these types of cards? I have some old Star Wars, Empire Strikes back and Superman cards. I also have a ton of NFL Proset cards from when they first came out.

Go to a card shop and they have holders you can buy.

Scrye magazine has a good pricelist for ALOT of games, but I don't remember them covering the SW:CCG. I do remember them covering the marvel game though, and obviously Magic.

check ebay, there are a few MTG online stores as well that sell singles. The biggest surprise is that Hymn to Tourach is almost the most valuable card from Fallen Empires, while the mighty Shivan Dragon has dropped dramatically in value. If you have a Force of Will, it's worth $$

google ftw

Here's a couple online stores that sell singles you can compare prices with.
StarCityGames & Card Kingdom

I also started playing MTG when revised was out. I think my most expensive cards from that set are the dual lands (Tundra, Underground Sea, etc) which are $15-25.
