I'm on a LAN at school, and I'd like to see who's accessing my files and what files that are accessing and and what times they are being accessed. Is there any good program that keeps logs of all outgoing traffic and files, etc? I have Windows XP Pro SP1 and I know about the COmputer Management which shows what is being currently accessed but it doesn't keep a history. IDeas?

Enable auditing on file access, but be aware your eventlogs will get huge or you'll miss a lot if you don't set them up big enough.

will this work for remote users who don't login to my computer to download (ie files in the shared documents folder) ?

in addition, i don' t think i can use auditing b/c it requires that Simple Filesharing be disabled which I need enabled (welcome screen, shared documents folder). Aren't there any programs that do this.

I remember Win98 used to have NetWatcher (which is what I used to see who's accessing my shared files). Not sure if it's been replaced by something else. I'd like to know too.
