I run TQ:IT with maxed out settings and with the XMAX 3rd party mod (monster mobs up to 10x size), and it runs fine. The only real slowdown I've encountered is the last fight in IT.
I will say this though, TQ
is kind of boring in Normal mode -- you basically spend your skill points in that difficulty just maxing out your two masteries. I usually speed run through Normal, or "cheat" by copying over a completed Normal map from one of my other characters, because Normal is just plain boring to play through, especially after you've already done it a few times.
It's not until Epic and Legendary that you really start being able to focus your skill points in abilities and the drops start getting really good, and that's where the fun really begins.
There are at least two really well-made mods for TQ, if you want to fine tune things like exp and drop percentages.
Besides, it's only $10 from Steam this week, so if you hate it, it's not like you're out a ton of money.
