It's the breathless regurgitating of facts that is ridiculous. Why don't they change the rules to get rid of it?

Because LD debates are all about the presentation and organization of facts into logical arguments. The difficulty lies in being able to construct the arguments in a very short period of time, and then present them in a persuasive manner. There is no senseless regurgitation in LD debate. At least not in any that I have seen.

I'm sorry the breathing and monotonous tones of these mass debaters is too distracting to assimilate what the hell they are trying to pass off as arguments. Thank god it's not in wide practice. There is no listening going on here it's just reading like an auctioneer from a script. I always thought debates were most effective when pundits would take what another would say and twist it around to invalidate their opponents' stance.
