Does something like Black Crowes count? A couple tunes on Southern Harmony & Musical Companion are good. Bad Luck Blue Eyes, Sometimes Salvation, Thorn in My Pride.

Sorry no mp3, but AllMusic or Amazon should have samples

Chris Whitley - "Living With the Law", "Dust Radio", "Dirt Floor", "Under the Radar", "Silhouette"
(ASIN: B0000027FZ)

Aerosmith - Toys in the Attic: "Adam's Apple", "No More, No More"

Willie Dixon - Chess Box (ASIN: B000002P8I)
great 2CD collection of his songs, performed by him, Howlin' Wolf, Koko Taylor, etc.

(edit) for ZZTop: "Jesus Just Left Chicago", "Hot, Blue and Righteous"

Howlin' Wolf - Killing Floor. This song and Howlin' Wolf in general kicks ass.

Robert Johnson - 32-20 Blues. I always liked the guitar in this one.

Albert King - Born Under a Bad Sign. Another bad ass song.

He's great, but also even more obvious than BB King. Even someone who's never heard BB's "Stormy Monday", "The Thrill is Gone", "Into the Night", etc. has heard a lot of SRV on the radio.

SRV's "Lenny" is a classic. I actually prefer Concrete Blonde's "Little Wing" to his though -- Johnette Napolitano's smoky vocals plus James Mankey's sweet guitar.

I'm funny about my blues, I like what I like. I enjoy deep blue stuff more than the blue-grassy or country edge of blues.
Johnny Lee Hooker doing most anything. The Buddy Guy tune I linked up earlier. Good slide guitar.
I like bluegrass too.

Clapton, Screamin Cheetah Wheelies, Bad Company, Zeppelin, so far as blues influenced bands go.
