Looking to buy a used wave runner/jet ski that needs fixing up but I know nothing about mechanical stuff, any recommended books?

They sell service manuals for each make & model sold...that'd be a good start. Also, there are some good basic mechanics type of books out there that will explain the rudimentary basics.

Many community colleges have a "community education" program separate from their academic programs, and most that I've seen offer some basic automotive classes, designed for the true beginner...
