Knockoff ink cartridges.

Do you get them just so you have color printouts or are the colors close enough that Photo's are the same with the knockoffs?

If so I have the canon IP4000 who makes the best knockoff you think is just as good as the originals?

Refill kit postings are just as good if you think a refill kit fits the bill.

I think Swiftink.com comes pretty close. Too bad you just missed their holiday sale. It was 35% off on Canon tanks... Was supposed to end on the 6th. Check in Hot Deals to see if the offer is back. Or you could just try the code and see if it still works: ANAND35 .

Very good question HDTVMan,

In some ways, you are asking how close the color profile of a given ink is to Canon OEM. The short answer is that none rises to 100%, but some come very close----or at least close enough so that
very minor adjustments in software can correct any bias.--and in posting that I do refer to the Canon ip4000 because I own that printer.---as well as a Mp730.

Personally I use cartridges from www.bulkinkjetcarts.com, some speak highly of swiftink, and that to name but two vendors. In terms of ink for refilling, many speak well of MIS ink and even state they prefer it to Canon OEM. Another ink worth watching is hobbicolors which now only vends on ebay. Not only are the reviews favorable but they also sell unfilled cartridges with a screw type sealing hole making refilling really easy.

But rather than believe me, I would prefer you visit the "nifty stuff forums" which is the source of my information. Just google nifty stuff forums with out the quotes and you should get there.----lots to read and learn there. Another good site is "Steves Digicams".

Some real photofreaks at either place-----lots of user input and experience to look at.

Hope that helps

I will check out "nifty stuff forums"

Thanks will do "Steves Digicams" convinced me on my digital camera purchase last year. I went with a digicam that would produce photos the way consumers think photo's should look like since my wife is anti-digital and was killing me with film development costs. She is very happy now with digital and the prints. I am hoping to keep things that way but in budget.

Thankyou Lemon law after checking out that website I am giving the ebay a vendor a shot since there is a paypal 10% coupon. Will post my results but I have a positive feeling about them based on the e-bay and forum readings.

Glad to help and thank this site also--its the people power of forums.---and all those who post their experiences.

But however you do end up deciding to go, you should be able to save bundles of money.
