Knights of the Old Republic: PC or XBox?

The thread title pretty much sums it up. I really want to get this game, and I know the PC version won't be out until October. I am just looking for a bit of input as to whether I should wait for the PC version (my PC is decent enough, so there shouldn't be any problems running it well), or just get the XBox version now. I already know all about the game, and offhand, I would be inclined to think the RPG-style used in it would be better suited for a console with a controller instead of a keyboard and mouse. Any opinions?

Yes. Yes I am. It's kind of a "do I spend the money know, or later" type of questions too.

I would get the pc version myself just for the fact of post-release improvements. Being able to change, modify, adjust, hack, whatever just by changing an .ini or adding some fan created files make the game that much more "worth it". Also I would hope that Bioware would release and expansion pack, I'm not sure how they would pull that off for the xbox.

yea, I gotta think that the pc version will be more customizable. There are also chances it will have performance issues and the like...things you wont need to worry about on the xbox.

I have the xbox version and Im VERY happy with it.....gotta love settin on the couch at night with the dolby digital cranked up with no crashing to worry about or crappy incompatabillity problems....(I will still proly get the pc version too, love the game)

Being faced with this decision before, it can be tough to make... I ended up with Morrowind for the XBOX instead of the PC, and I must say that I very much enjoyed being able to play from the couch with dolby (was there dolby in Morrowind? I don't recall, but the receiver was on, and there was sound. 🙂 )

All I can suggest is maybe renting the game for XBOX, playing until you've had enough, or finished it, and then buy it later when you can make the choice of XBOX or PC based on whether it seems there will be expansions readily available, etc. This increases the overall cost slightly I guess, but could be worth it, depending on how you look at it.

The XBox version has some bugs in it, suffers from massive edge aliasing(worst I've seen in some time) and has framerate issues. All of these things can be fixed for the PC port(the latter two simply need more power to be gone).

That said, I'm half way done the game on my second play through(went light side the first time, dark side this time). To date I would say this game is easily GOTY for any system(though HL2 will change that I'm sure). I've been going to bed way too late every day since the game came out, and all my free time has been sucked up by it even though I've already played through it once. The game kicks all sorts of @ss. I don't know how your finances look, but I'm going to buy the PC version when it comes out because of the above listed issues even though I already own the game for the Box. The PC port should be better, and the game seems built for expansion packs on top of that, but IMO it is too good to wait until October for.
