Knife Badge in BF2

How can you get a knife kill in Battlefield 2 let alone get 7 in one round to get the knife combat badge. The only times I have ever gotten knife kills is sneaking up on a sniper out in the open. I have had BF2 since it was out and I have never been able to get this badge. It's not like Counter Strike when you pull out your knife and the other guy will pull his out and you will have a knife fight. Everyone will just shoot you. We should set up a Knife Fight match so I can get my damn badge already so I can finally move up to First Sergeant.
 
There are some servers that have done knife only just for this reason, but ranked servers aren't allowed to do this. It's considered a type of stat padding and if anybody finds out you got your knife badge in a knife only server you could have your account deleted and may be even your cdkey banned.

I think it's ridiculous too, but that's part of the challenge. If you get that badge you know you're damn good with a knife.
 
Easy, you walk up behind someone and stab them in the head. Instant headshot. A lot of times you can flank a sniper nest and get 3 or 4 knife kills in short order. The whole point is to not get caught with your knife out in the open.
 
I got it fairly quickly, you just need a little luck too though. I used to get like 2-3 knife kills every game I played though, you just gotta remember, walk slow, and don't panic the moment you see them, and shoot their brains out. Whip out your knife instead and go for it.
 
I would swing away and could never get a hit. Usually I'd come up on some guy with a rifle out and unaware of me. I'd get next to him and start swinging.
After a couple misses I'd be noticed, he'd pull out a pistol, I'm dead.
 
Find a low populated 64 size map. I got mine on Sharqi. Got a couple of snipers on the hll above the MEC uncap. Then got the rest between the City Entrance and Surveillance Post. A couple of snipers on roof tops and the rest just hiding in alleyways waiting for people to run by; ran after them and knifed them in the back.
 
are you kidding me, knife kills in bf2 are so easy. much easier then in cs. just the fact that you can sprint gives you a huge advantage, plus its a 1 hit kill. one of the best maps to get knife kills is Songhua Stalemate. its easy to find enemies within the tree lines and through the fog. I have seen enemies run past me in that map without noticing me. I just whip out my knife and sprint after them.

another easy map is Mashtuur City. People love to go on top of buildings and snipe. I just go up the ladder and shank them. The most I've got is 6 knife kills in one round. its sad, I was 1 away from the badge. one time I took out 4 people in a row with a knife on top of a building in Mashtuur. I went up and I see 3 guys, im like wtfbbq... shanked 2, the third tries to shoot me, misses, I knife him in the face. Then a fourth comes up the ladder and I knifed him before he could be on his feet. That was one of the greatest laughs I had in all my years of gaming. My team mate on ventrilo was laughing so hard too. good times... BF2 rocks!
 
Knife kills aren't that hard...I have an expert badge myself...though I do remember that trying to get the Basic one drove me nuts...best solution is to try and get in behind them when they don't notice, turn on speed boost and knife them from behind...this works very well at CPs and against snipers.

Also, once you make Master Sergeant, you won't move up to First Sergeant upon earning the knife badge...you need it while you're a Gunny for that. However, if you have all the badges before your next promotion you will go to Sgt. Major instead of Master Gunny.
 
Its kinda funny It usta be even hard to get knife badges. I think the gold badge was like 20 something knife kills in a round. Now I think its just like 100 kills total. Either way, like somone else said go to a low pop Karkand server as a medic and its fairly easy. Just ONLY use your knife.
