Kmart Deal heating up!

Went to the Kmart in Fredonia, NY yesterday and things are finally getting better. 30-50% off everything. We got a Canon A20 for 50% off. Unfortunately the munchies we're only 30% off. I can do better than that at the grocery store.

BTW, the only K-Mart around here that is closing has next to nothing left. All their furniture like cpu desks, TV stands, all the boxes are ripped up, and the only electronics left mainly were display models. They had a couple cameras at 40% off but nothing worth buying.

K-Mart sucks. hehe

per the flyer handed out by the greeter, %'s off as of may 2, 2002:

80% off all gold and fine jewelery (just in time for mother's day)
70% off christmas trees and all greeting cards
60% off snow shovels, hunting accessories, hunting clothes, thermal underwear
50% off all hearters, all clearance apparel, all cosmetics and fragrences, all toys, costume jewelery, sun glasses, bowling equipment, and all automotive
40% off all sporting goods, all hardware, all cameras and film, music, movies, and books


as a kmart employee, i'll tell you that they've just activated some PLCs going up...price list corrections, in lamens terms, they just raised prices. Not everything you see in the store is the lowest prices that it's been. IMO, it's silly for them to raise prices seeing as the liquidation centers are collecting all the money.

And to update, all kmart employees are being compensated for their time with the company and receiving a severance package in proportional to their time with the company. BUT...only the associates who remain with the company until the doors close will receive this.

Thats the truth. The K-Mart here jacked up the prices on the digcams. They had a FujiFine Pix 1300 for $269 then 30% off that. What a rip.
Although the did have the AudioVox DVD-1500 protable dvd player for $292.00.

Hmmm...the Kmart in Centralia,IL has 50% off digicams. I bought a Sony DSC-20 for $99.98 on Sunday. I don't know much about digital cameras, but thought that I would be safe with a Sony. I bought the last DSC-20. They had other brands....saw several Olympus D-360L cameras, Agfa(?), Argus DC-2700, HP 215 and Polaroid's. I bought a B & D RTX rotary tool on Sat. for 40% off...around $37. (Reg. price $61.98), but noticed that they were 50% off on Sunday...with 3 left on shelf:disgust: Also, got Winxp Plus for $20. (worth it??)

I screwed up BIG TIME though, they had 3 copies of Silent Hill 2 for $25 and I hesitated and somebody else grabbed them - UGH!

Some good deals but you have to wade through a bunch of sh!t to find them...

K-fart has been out of business in my mind for a long time anyway. They just can't compete as far as price with Walmart and selection with Target and Meijer. They will join Monkey Wards and close all their doors soon enough...
