klipsch ultra speakers

just unpacked a klipsch ultra 5.1 and don't have my puter yet, so we tried hooking up a walkman cd player to speakers. We could any get 2 or 3 speakers to work (what speakers worked sounded great)!

Tried changing speaker wires around but it really didn't do any good.

Is there an issue with the speakers needing to be hooked up to sound card to get ur surround sound (all speakers functioning properly...looking at the schematic I am leaving a lot out)

any responses would be appreciated before i call klipsch and look like a fool... (boy am i leaving myself open for that one....)

p.s.

i am only familiar with the 2 speaker subwoofer cambridge setup.. have had it for years... decided to get something better, but yet I really am in the dark here.

What is your volume? Try to turn it up to 50-60 and see what will happen.
