Those do look pretty awesome but still no match for the $114 Logitech Z-560

well obviously you wouldn't buy them for the performance/price ratio... but because they're limited edition and collectible

i'm not a big enough star wars fan to appreciate them for $250

bass output from the logitech z's is simply phenomal, much better than the promedias. As for high end treble/midrange, the klipsch can get higher with less distortion but the logitechs have much better midrange and overall nicer sound.

Your comparing a 2.1 system to a 4.1 system.

Apples to Apples, Klipsch 4.1 beats the Logitech Z560 anyday. Yea, the Z560 is a great value for the money, but hearing both side by side made the Klipsch the clear winner. Not only was the sound more clarified and clear in the Klipsch, but the bass was not overly boomy.

Dont even get me started on the 5.1's.... Simply amazing.

Merchandising merchandising, that's where the real money from the movie is made...

Hmmm I think I'd rather buy a lightsaber replica.. Then I'd still have 50.00 leftover for a pair of labtec pulse 424's that would blow the klipsch one's away...

Neat Idea but they need to be like in the shape of Darth Vader's or Maul's Face. Then they would be worth buying!

Thanks for the post though!
It's always cool to see what SW stuff is going around!

I own the 2.1s and have had a chance to trade them with a friend's Logitech Z-560s, but I kept the Klipschs, even with two less speakers. Reason?

1. The Z-560s may produce LOUD bass, the sub of the Z-560s can't make QUALITY sound. It's loud, yes, to the point of being obnoxious and uncontrolled, whereas the 2.1's sub has good response and crisp bass. It may not be as loud, but the sound is quality.

2. The highs on the Z-560s are exaggerated as well, with really no spectacular highs to speak of, only good mid. For the ProMedia satellites, with the inclusion of tweeters, highs are clear and bright while the mids are good as well.

3. The quality of the Z-560s isn't that great, the craftsmanship cannot be comapared with Klipsch.

4. The z-560s don't look that good... :) All the round corners and cheap plastic really keep it from looking like a serious speaker system.

These are my own opinons in choosing to keep the PM2.1s over getting Z-560s. My friend wasn't that much of an audiophile, so the only reason he got the Z-560s was mainly due to hype. The reason he wanted to trade for my one year-old PM2.1s? He thought the PM2.1s were a better value... go figure.

Keep in mind the the Klipsch is a 2.1 system whereas the Z-560s are 4.1. If you really wanna compare 4.1s, Logitech really has no chance against the Klipsch 4.1s, mainly due to the points i pointed above. The only reason it's getting so much hype is because of its price, which is really attractive, mind you, but the quality (both in sound and build quality) just isn't there.

And like what aphexII said, the 5.1s are just incredible :)

emmm..... whats with the bashing on klipsch here, who cares if you got your speakers cheaper, your not going to buy these because they perform better anyway, their 50 extra bucks compared to the standard 2.1's, and i like my 4.2's very much :)

To be straight up with you why don't you numbskulls go buy a cheap dolby digital receiver/5.1 speaker combo from CC or BestBay ($200-$250) and hook it up to the speaker output on your sound card?!?! It'll blow the Klipsch and the Logitechs together!!!

Any home theater setup that costs $200-$250 is a POS....

Just a decent reciever alone starts at $299+, and were not even talking about speakers yet...

Of course it's a POS for home theater, but for a computer it'll kick the ass of any of these overpriced computer speakers. If the price range is too much just get the z560s.

A POS home theater will not kick the Klipsch 5.1's ass, guaranteed. Hell, even these 2.1 systems make those systems sound like a pansy...

A friend of mine has a POS Rca system that cost him $299 or so from Best buy, they sound like pure ass.... Anytime he turns the volume up to any reasonable level, they get distored and the bass is all fuzzy. Keep in mind, many cheap HT setups come with a passive subwoofer, which IMO completely sucks.
